Handmade Gifts

One thing we love about being a family business is that we can work on such a lovely variety of items. One week we can be designing and making high end rooms, the next we can be working on small commissioned gifts; whether for a special birthday, Christmas, anniversary, wedding or birth. Everything we make is designed to last for generations, so they can become family heirlooms, full of stories. Here's a small collection for you to enjoy.

Oak Expresso Board

A beautiful piece of figured oak has been sculpted, carved and personalised with artful lettering. Scalloped edge and 8cm diameter cup recess. Commissioned by a lady as a gift for her husband.

A pair of black walnut keepsake boxes

A beautiful pair of Black walnut keepsake boxes designed and made for a brother and sister. The brother (and wife) have recently had their first little baby boy; the sister (and husband) a little girl.. The tops of the boxes are cut sequentially from the same piece of timber - lay the lids together and the grain follows through (two boxes from one tree - two children from one family). Each box is hand carved or sculpted and the baby's name is carved in artistic lettering. Each is lined with acid free decorative paper so that they can be passed down the generations.

Black Walnut Cheese Boards

A lovely pair of black walnut cheese boards. Soft and curving in your hand with personalised artful lettering. Commissioned by a couple for their two grown up sons and their families to go alongside a special hamper full of lovely cheeses. The boards are made from the same piece of timber, so when placed together they show one little part of the same tree. Finished in rapeseed oil. Hopefully both families will enjoy them for years to come.

Engagement Ring Box

A super little ring box made for a gentleman. He wanted something special to hold a family engagement ring (it belonged to the young lady's grandmother) when he proposed (She said "yes"). Made from African Blackwood with a Boxwood interior. Polished with a thin layer of shellac and carnauba wax. Utterly exquisite to hold in your hand.

Yew Pencil Box

An exquisite desk pencil box has designed and made for a gentleman artist. It features beautifully figure yew and hand sculpted top. The bottom is cover in baize and inside lined with decorative acid free paper. All finished with handmade wax.

Personalised shapes with hanging ribbon

Hand cut, with a knife, in artful lettering. These are wonderfully popular as gifts for individuals or entire families. Any shape or name can be cut.

Black Walnut Jewellery Box

A black walnut jewellery box with a sculpted and carved top. It has a contrasting poplar tray and is lined with deep blue velvet. It's finished with a full french polish and wax finish.

Wedding Keepsake Box

A beautiful keepsake box in gloriously figured yew with hand-cut details and artful lettering. This one was commissioned for a couple as a special wedding gift. Gently distressed and aged with a full French Polished finish - this gives a feeling of age and history. It feels precious and important in your hand - which seems appropriate for a newly-married couple who have just entrusted themselves to each other's hand. Hopefully, this will become a family heirloom passed from generation to generation.
